Balance poses are a staple in our classes at Island Life, such as the tree pose shown above. Balance poses help to increase focus and quiet the mind, while relieving stress, tension, and fatigue. Balance poses also strengthen our tendons, ligaments, and major muscle groups and can help to reduce accidental slips and falls outside of the studio and their mat.

Mindfulness is one of the most important parts of all of our yoga classes at Island Life. We always begin each class with a few minutes of mindful meditation giving ourselves permission to be quiet and still. Mindfulness can help to ease stress, anxiety, and depression and helps students prepare to delve more deeply into the physical asana of the their yoga practice.
